Why it is free

The tool costs us almost nothing to run, because your computer does the work. The site is paid for by advertising on the guide and bank pages. There are no ads on the converter, the review screen or the download screen — partly because Google’s publisher policy forbids ads on result and download screens, and partly because putting one next to a download button is a trick, not a business model.

What we will not do

• Claim an accuracy figure we cannot demonstrate. Here is what we claim and why.
• Cap the free tier to push you onto a paid one. Every format, including QBO and OFX, is free.
• Publish a page for a bank whose statements nobody here has actually tested.
• Invent review ratings, customer counts or certifications.

Editorial standards

Every guide is written by carrying out the steps in the real software and recording what happened, with the date. Every bank page is written from statements that went through the parser, with the size of the test set and the date of the last re-test shown. When a figure gets worse, we publish the worse figure.
