How we read Chase, field by field
This is the part other converters leave out. These are the real properties of the statement layouts, and how each one is handled — written from the statements we tested, not from a template.

The bank's own export is not the same data. Chase’s own Activity Download gives you roughly the last 90 days as CSV, and it drops the running balance column. The PDF statements go back seven years.
Things that trip people up with Chase
Credit card statements have no running balance
Which means the row-by-row arithmetic check cannot run on them. We still check the total against the printed closing figure, and the results screen says plainly that the stronger check was unavailable. Nobody else in this market tells you that.
The Activity Download is not the same data as the statement
Chase’s CSV export covers roughly the last 90 days and omits the running balance. The PDF statement is the authoritative record and reaches back seven years. If you need anything older than a quarter, the PDF is the only route — which is also why this tool exists.
Business Complete Checking splits fees into their own table
Those fee rows carry amounts but are not entries in the running balance. We exclude them from the transaction list and total them separately, so the closing balance still reconciles.
